Frequently Asked Questions
“Do you take my insurance?”
Mindful Healing Works Wellness Center (MHWWC) is credentialed in Medicaid, CareFirst Blue Choice/Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna.
“How can I contact my therapist when we aren’t in session?”
You can message your therapist on our HIPAA-compliant patient portal, Kareo. Just download the Kareo app onto your phone and you can message your provider through your inbox. If you are having a scheduling concern, please call the front office at 443-530-6533.
“Are you offering in-person counseling sessions?”
Most of our providers are offering in-person sessions to their clients. Some clients are still relying on Telehealth session which is why we keep it an option.
“Why do I have to leave my credit card on file?”
We only require clients with commercial insurance to leave a credit card on file. This is how we collect our clients’ co-pays remotely.
“When will my telehealth appointment link be sent to me?”
Your appointment link will be sent to you in a text message within 15 minutes of your appointment. In order to avoid any technical difficulties, we suggest downloading the Telehealth app onto your phone.
“Why do I have a charge of $30 when I canceled my appointment?”
Per the Mental Health Orientation Packet that all clients are required to read and sign prior to their first appointment, MHWWC requires a 24-hour notice when canceling an appointment. If you cancel your appointment within the 24-hour window of your appointment, you will be charged a $30 missed appointment fee (only for clients with commercial insurance).
"Are masks required while inside of the center?"
In order to ensure the comfortability of all our employees and clients, we are requiring everyone to wear masks when they are in the building.
"Do you offer group therapy?"
Yes, we do. We offer an Adult Grief Support Group and a LGBTQ Kids/Teens Support Group that meet regularly. Please check our Group Therapy page for more details.
